McBride began his journey as an artist with an illustrious music career that spanned more than three decades. Danny has had two solo records for CBS, fourteen years as lead guitarist with Irish pop star Chris DeBurgh, and European tours with German Opera star Peter Hoffmann and good friend David Hasselhoff. During his travels, McBride was fortunate to befriend well-known figures that ranged from Natalie Cole to the Duchess of York. After experiencing great success in the music industry, Danny began to devote more time to his painting – a lifelong passion that had begun in his childhood.
A self-taught artist, Danny's unique figurative style comes alive on the canvas in richly textured acrylic still life, most vividly in his elegant images of women. Put simply, his exciting works transport the viewer to a different time and place. “I try to capture and embrace the gentle and compassionate side of people in my work. Occasionally, I mix in a playfully seductive ingredient and incorporate it through colour, gesture, and composition. I feel that each creation is unique and will hopefully find a special space. I would like to think that my paintings give people a sense of well-being and something to spark the imagination.”
Danny’s paintings have sold privately throughout the world, from Sotheby’s New York to the homes of celebrities. Danny currently lives in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.
