Catherine Protsenko- cheap prints & posters

Biography

Catherine Protsenko was born in 1956 in Angers, France. She first studied drawing and painting at the “Atelier Martin-Talboutier” in France and at one of Paris’ prestigious art schools. She then enrolled at the Manufacture Nationale des Gobelins, where she studied Art History and Tapestry, and developed her drawing skills for seven years. During this time, she created tapestries inspired by the paintings of artists Rouan, Dewasne and Latapie.

Since 1987, Catherine has been manufacturing tapestries from her own creations as well as pain on canvas. Morocco remains to be her favorite subject and she has painted it in a variety of ways, including using a figurative and abstract approach.

Catherine’s color palette is usually dominated by one color that is rich of nuances and which lends itself well to expressive intensity. She juxtaposes beautiful and pure shades in a unique way that gives colors their true exquisiteness.
